These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders placed with RJ Print Lab. By placing an order, you agree to the following:
Orders
All orders are subject to acceptance.
A contract is formed once your 50% deposit has been received and we have confirmed the order details in writing.
Any changes to the agreed specification may result in additional charges.
Pricing
All prices are quoted in GBP (£).
Prices do not include (unless clearly stated):
Postage or delivery
Import duties, taxes or customs charges
Special packaging
Digital manipulation, spotting or retouching
Alternative paper selections
Hahnemühle Platinum Rag is our standard paper. Alternative papers can be discussed and may incur additional cost.
We reserve the right to amend prices prior to order confirmation.
Payment
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required before production begins.
The remaining balance, including postage and handling, must be paid in full before dispatch.
No prints will leave the studio until full payment has been received and cleared.
Production Times
Production times are agreed with you at the point of order.
Handmade platinum palladium printing is typically completed within 10–15 working days from:
Receipt of all required materials, and
Final written approval of images.
Timeframes are estimates and not guaranteed.
Brush stroke visibility and aesthetic preferences will be discussed when placing your order.
Nature of Handmade Prints
Platinum palladium prints are hand-coated and individually produced.
Natural variations in tone, density, brush marks and surface character are inherent to the process and are not defects.
No two prints are identical. Minor variations, including repeat printings of the same image, are part of the character of the medium.
Delivery & Risk
Postage and handling are charged in addition to print costs unless otherwise agreed.
You are responsible for any import duties or customs charges in your country.
Risk passes:
On delivery, if we arrange shipping; or
On collection, if you arrange your own courier.
Where you appoint your own courier, responsibility transfers at collection.
Our liability for loss or damage in transit is limited to the compensation recoverable from the courier.
Scanning & Digital Files
Scanning of negatives does not include digital dust spotting unless agreed in advance.
We do not retain client images after completion of an order.
All supplied digital files are permanently deleted from our systems once your order is complete, unless otherwise agreed.
Consumer Cancellation (Distance Orders)
If you are a consumer ordering remotely (online, email or phone), UK law normally provides a 14-day cancellation period.
However, this does not apply to bespoke or personalised goods.
As all prints are made to order, cancellation rights end once production has begun.
If cancellation is requested before production starts, we reserve the right to retain the 50% deposit.
Copyright
You retain copyright in all images and materials you supply.
By placing an order, you confirm that you own the copyright or have permission to reproduce the work.
You agree to indemnify RJ Print Lab against any claims arising from copyright infringement.
We reserve the right to photograph work for portfolio or promotional purposes unless confidentiality is requested in writing before production.
Storage & Uncollected Work
We will notify you when work is ready for collection or dispatch.
Uncollected work after 30 days may incur storage fees.
Work uncollected after 90 days may be sold or disposed of in accordance with UK law. Sale proceeds will first cover outstanding balances and costs.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
